quick start

print flat, heat, fold, profit

print settings

print at 0.2 layer height for the recessed areas to look correct or dont idrc

features

  • it laptop for cat (cattop)
  • design inspired by my m2 macbook air (minus the color bc the blue aluminum is literally allergic to existing near hands)
  • no notch
  • smol but not too small (its perfect actually)
  • 4.9 inch display (diagonal)
  • display technology: plastic lmao it dont work
  • camera: absolutely not
  • keyboard layout: very good, like apple but better obviously bc the keys dont even pretend to work
  • trackpad: properly chunky (for a tiny catboard)
  • logo: cat (what else would it be)
  • processor: cat® c2 (its fine)

assembly instructions

ok so the hinge part is just printed thinner than the rest - here's how to bend it without breaking:

  1. print it flat
  2. grab a small torch (clipper lighter works perfect) - don't use a heat gun
  3. quick gentle passes over the hinge area - swift and light
  4. bend along the whole width a little; heat a little more if needed; repeat
  5. bend a tiny bit past where you want it (it'll probably spring back a bit since we're just hitting glass transition not actually melting it)

protips:

  • if it turns white, you bent it without heating enough (rip)
  • if it gets floppy or sags, you heated too much
  • you can do this in stages, no need to rush it
  • please don't use a heat gun

dimensions

  • printed dimensions (flat): 107.48mm x 150mm x 3.12mm
  • screen dimensions: 102.7mm x 72.6mm

multicolor printing

requires AMS:

  • screen
  • logo

can be manual if you don't have an AMS:

  • keyboard
