The Design of the Trabant Key

The Trabant key was designed simply and functionally. It had a simple metal blade that fitted into the ignition switch and a robust handle made of plastic or metal. The design was intended to be durable and user-friendly. Compared to modern car keys, the Trabant key was simple and without additional functions such as remote control or transponder.

Materials and Manufacturing

The key was made from PLA. The original blade was made of hardened steel while the handle was made of plastic or metal. These materials ensured that the key remained functional even after years of use.

For printing, Bambulab PLA Basic was used.
