The F-5E Tiger II is a lightweight, supersonic fighter jet developed by Northrop Corporation in the 1970s as an upgraded version of the F-5A/B Freedom Fighter. Known for its simplicity, reliability, and low operating costs, the F-5E features enhanced avionics, greater fuel capacity, improved engines, and more advanced weapon systems. It was widely used by allied nations and remains in service in various air forces for training, air policing, and light combat roles. Its maneuverability and cost-effectiveness have also made it a popular choice for adversary training in air combat exercises.
