Description

I was disappointed how fast is battery draining in Sony XM4 headset with ANC ON.

I thought that I could place bigger battery under headset case, but there was not enough place for that. So I just created my cover, which fits perfectly and it is just slightly larger. You can place there additional 1000mAh battery which doubles the capacity.

Now I can use them for 3 whole days without charging or about a week of light usage.

How to disassembly them you can find here → https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Sony+WH-1000XM4+Battery+Replacement/143625

To do this mod you need to have soldering iron, additional battery, electrical tape and double side tape to stick batteries together and stick touchpad and superglue for sticking red plug (to maintain styling).

Batteries have to be soldered in parallel, to keep voltage the same - red to red, and black to black.

PS1: Headset are now slightly heavier on one side, but I don't feel any difference. Sound quality is the same(very good). Touchpad works flawlessly.

PS2: It is quite easy to perform this mod, caps just have regular screws under earpads. There is also no problem with going back to stock cap.
