Set this up and get ready to catch some fish!!
When the fish bites it pulls the trigger and automatically sets the hook.
No more missing those pesky fish that take one bite and are gone.

If you really want to catch those fish and be the envy of your friends. check out the automatic jigging machine that works with this thing.

Thanks

Update 2-23-2020
Longer hook on the safety
Thicker tee piece, it was prone to breaking in cold weather
Clevis pin holder option
Option for long screws on the feet to act as ice picks
Fixed scaling issue on plug

.
There are a few options now.

  1. I added an extra holder that is compatible with a 1/4" clevis pin, rather than using screws, it makes for easy adjustment.
  2. I added another option for the feet, the second set has an extra pair of holes to have longer screws protrude out of the bottom to act as ice picks to hold it in place.

Automatic hook setter for ice fishing. Similar to a jawjacker or automatic fisherman.

Uses 1" aluminum square tubing, #10 machine screws, nylon lock nuts, and nylon washers.
The knob has a hollow section to add a nut in during printing. you can use a nut but it will be harder to fine tune the tension of the release mechanism.

Rivet nuts were used to hold the bolts in the tubing, I did not want the aluminum to strip out.
I used an elastic band to help hold the legs out, it is not a must have but it holds the legs so they do not fold in and it doubles as a handle.
