Using filament strands to connect flowers and main stem
Convallaria majalis, lily of the valley
Flower language: "Return of happiness"
Lily of the valley has a raceme inflorescence leaning to one side. The plant reaches a height of 15-20cm, with each stem bearing about 10 small flowers. Six petals form a bell-shaped flower, which is pendulous and fragrant.
I've always loved lily of the valley. I've bought many bulbs before, but none ever bloomed successfully. It's said that domestic bulbs have an extremely low blooming rate, and imported ones are ridiculously expensive. After getting a cat, I couldn't try growing them again (the entire lily of the valley plant is poisonous), so I decided to 3D print some instead.

The unique six-petaled, bell-shaped flowers of the lily of the valley have been recreated. The top three are half-open buds. You can combine fully open or half-open flowers according to your preference.

A pair of pliers and a little DIY ability are needed
- Print the flowers and main stems from plate 1 and plate 2
Cut about 30 cm of filament strand. Find a cylindrical object (like a hammer handle or table leg) and wrap the filament strand around it. This step is to increase the filament strand's curvature.

Thread the filament strand through the flower's hole. Use pliers to flatten the end of the filament strand (heating it with a lighter for 1 second to soften will make it easier to handle).

Use pliers to cut the filament strand (leaving 3-5 cm). Insert it into the hole in the main stem. A small amount of glue can be used to secure it.

After printing 3-4 flower stems, you can print 2-3 leaves (plate 3). Use a lighter or heat gun to soften the leaves, then pinch them into a naturally curled shape.
I used a small glass wine bottle for styling. Note: If all the flowers are arranged on the same side, you may need to add counterweights (like pebbles or expanded clay) inside the vase to prevent it from tipping over.

A quick reminder: good bed adhesion is essential for a successful print.
Make sure your material and temperature settings are correct, and clean the build plate regularly.
Bambu Lab Liquid Glue for Build Plate is a great way to ensure reliable results.
