osVACneo with a new rotary joint

I have two vacuum cleaners in my workshop, a Kärcher WD6P and a Bosch AdvancedVac18V. I have previously printed adapters for both that are interoperable.

I recently discovered the osVACneo system and am generally thrilled with it. My P1S printer operates with great precision, but the initial test print of a hose adapter from osVACneo’s Fusion360 file failed (the swivel joint would not move).

I then contemplated and devised an alternative swivel joint, enabling much more flexible connections between various adapters. Should an adapter be unavailable, a new one can be readily assembled from existing adapters.

I have incorporated a circumferential groove and axial grooves into the individual adapters (the first version only had a circumferential groove). For this I designed two different rings:

• a ring with circumferential grooves and axial grooves on one side: this ring creates a swivel joint that securely holds the parts together
• a ring with circumferential grooves and continuous axial grooves: this ring rigidly connects two adapters.

The male connectors and female sockets of nominal size 32 should be compatible with osVACneo parts. I completely remodeled the adapters in Autodesk Inventor, as the Fusion360 files are very confusing. I printed an original osVACneo male connector in size 32 and it fits my socket.

Sizes 20, 35, and 50 are custom-modeled and are highly unlikely to be compatible with osVACneo (sorry).

Those wishing to use the coupling can use the solo coupling (step file included) and attach it to an original osVACneo connector or socket (should even be directly feasible in Bambu Studio).
