Description

Hey MakerWorld! 🚀

I really liked the original reusable spool design, but it was missing a few things to make it 100% perfect for me—so I made some tweaks! 🎯

What I changed:

Filament gauge on both sides – now you can see roughly how many grams are left at a glance.
Built-in filament clips – no more extra printed parts! Just press the filament into the small slots on the rim.
No more threading filament through holes – I never liked it sticking out and risking puncturing vacuum-sealed bags. This design keeps it tucked neatly in place.

What stayed the same?

🔄 Locking mechanism – unchanged, still works with the original version.
🔄 Respooling holes – kept for easy rewinding.

Print Details:

🖨️ Printed in PLA, used just 155g, which I think is a great result for a full spool!
🔄 Tested it with winding filament—works perfectly!

⚠️ Using PLA? Don’t dry it! If you plan to dehydrate your spools, print in PETG or ASA instead.
