Description

This dryer vent cage allows plenty of air movement but reduces the hole size to eliminate pests like mice and snakes. It includes a removable bottom tray to allow easy lint cleaning. Printed in PETG for higher temperatures and outdoor usage. Attaches to the dryer vents sold by Lowes (Imperial Brand) and likely any exterior dryer vent sold at other retailers. The current opening is 141mm x 80mm and can easily be scaled to expand/shrink for different sized vents.

This is my first original model and version 6 I've printed and tested. I've tried different types of openings and settled on hex-shaped holes to minimize smaller snakes found here in Minnesota. The top mounting holes allow for easy screw and nut mounting on both plastic and metal dryer vent hoods. The current front holes perfectly match the Imperial dryer hoods--model VT0761--sold at Lowes (Jan 2025) with UPC 0-63467-88914-4. I simply removed the standard large-hole grid and attached this original design over the vent.

I am still learning both CAD design and 3D printing, however I still welcome feedback, suggestions and other comments. I hope someone else is able to find use for their particular vent situation.
