Description

This is part of a developing collection of parts for wooden train tracks, which can be found at this link. This collection of models is designed to work with each other and with IKEA Lillabo pieces, and should play nicely with Brio and other brands. This model can be combined with the Stone Brick Arch for more customization.

This model is a raised arch causeway designed to fit specifically with the Lillabo ramp pieces from IKEA, or the printable clone ramps. Designed to look like brick or stacked stone, with brick laid out as real brick layers would build it. The slot is 41 mm wide to hold 40 mm tracks. The height of track is 65 mm from bottom of track at the peak, to match with the IKEA ramp pieces. The model includes a strut which will hold the tracks firmly in place while still being easy to remove and reposition.

This arch can be assembled as a single arch with straight abutment walls, or extended to have as many arches as your heart desires. It is designed for the shorter IKEA tracks that are 145mm long, or this printable clone

For one arch, print the Base Set profile. For multiple arches, print the Base Set profile, then print the Extension Set. If you're combining with the Stone Brick Arch, print the Arch and only the Extension Set.

To Assemble:

  1. Match the right and left wall pieces together.
  2. Insert Arch and Struts into one wall.
  3. Join other wall with arch and struts.
  4. Add Back Walls last

Printing Tips: Very little support is required, but there are a couple spots it needs to be removed. There are a lot of small features on the first layer. Watch for bed adhesion on the first layer and lifting caused by warping on the skinny bits of the walls. Use glue or add a brim if you have problems.

Model shown was printed with Bambu's Grey Matte PLA.
