Description

There are aspects of JiltedGeek's original dewalt table saw throat plate that I liked, as well as some of the changes introduced by BombadBrad in the remix, so I've combined the two.

I've taken BombadBrad's file, added 23 mm back to the overall length, trimmed/rounded some corners to help the plate seat better, and saved as two separate STL files like in the original design.

I have also included 23mm spacers for those who have printed BombadBrad's remix and want to make the plat fit more snugly. Glue the pieces on and secure with M3 screws.

This plate does not feature leveling screws like the OEM Dewalt plate does, and the bottom contacts need to be sanded down to fit your exact table saw. The top is cast aluminum and everyone's fit is going to be different.

Photos

  1. How the plate looks when printed in white and installed.
  2. Demonstration of a cross cut made with the zero-clearance plate on the left vs. a cut made with the stock plate on the right. A 24 tooth blade was used so it's a rather subtle example, but you can still see the zero clearance plate has some effect.
  3. How the plate looks with the spacer installed. The spacer does create a small bump, but it's small enough that it won't affect the actual cuts.
