Description

I recently lost the floor tool for my Rigid shop vac. I never like how the floor tool was not very wide.  In looking at existing models, I saw a nice 12" floor tool, but it was for the more standard 2-½" diameter hose.  Rigid shop vacs have a 1-¾" coupler.  I decided to design a nice, thin, wide, and functional floor tool.  Since I usually am vacuuming things like sawdust and metal shavings off the floor, I hated how most vacuum attachments, when flush with the floor, get sucked down to the floor, requiring the tool to be angled.  Plus when this happens, nothing gets sucked in.  So for this design, there are two additional parts, glide feet,  that are printed and inserted in the two recesses.  This provides a cantilevered point to allow the vacuum head to stay off the floor and always provide suction.   Of course these will wear out after a while, so feel free to print more, or better yet make some metal ones (I was also pondering using washers instead.  Perhaps on rev 2. The holes on top are to push the old feet out.
