Description

Why not have an Easter egg hunt in the dark? These glowing eggs turned out AMAZING.

Consider sending a boost my way if you like this. Or boost someone else — just don't let your boost tokens expire, please! They cost you nothing and send a tip worth about $1 to a designer, which helps them make more cool stuff.

SOURCING GLOW STICKS

The eggs come in two sizes, fitting two common sizes of mini glow stick

Medium: Fits glow sticks with a 6 mm diameter and 50 mm length, often sold as 2-inch or 1.96-inch glow sticks

I got mine here: USA https://www.amazon.com/POPGIFTU-Sticks-Easter-Halloween-Decorations/dp/B0CS66QBHH CANADA https://www.amazon.ca/POPGIFTU-Sticks-Easter-Halloween-Decorations/dp/B0CS66QBHH/

Small: Fits glow sticks with a 4.5 mm diameter and 37 mm length, often sold as 1.5-inch glow sticks

I got mine here: USA https://glowproducts.com/us/mini-glow-sticks-assorted-color-pack CANADA https://glowarehouse.com/gw_ca/mini-glow-sticks-assorted-color-pack

IMPORTANT NOTE: Bring your egg hunt inside if outdoor temperatures are freezing or close to it. Glow sticks are dimmer (but last longer) in the cold.

PRINTING THE EGGS

I've shared separate profiles for the two sizes. Each has one plate with one egg and one plate with multiple (12 small, 9 medium).

I recommend printing one egg to test for fit before a full run. Let me know in the comments if you would like help troubleshooting for fit.

PLEASE make sure your bed adhesion is on point, as contact is minimal. For me, that means using textured PEI and cleaning it with dish soap and warm water.

BEYOND EASTER

I spent a lot of time on the design details to make these stylish, to give them uses beyond a glow-stick container.

That's why I hid the seam between the parts near the bottom, and eliminated the printing seam with random alignment and a touch of fuzzy skin.

You can use the eggs as a cute container for small gifts, toys, treats and surprises — for any occasion.

I also think they look good enough to use as decor, with or without glow sticks, for the Easter season and beyond.

And if you're looking for uses for leftover glow sticks, stay tuned. I have some designs coming soon — maybe give me a follow?

Wow, you read to the end! That's really cool! Thanks!
