Description

After procuring a second hand UniFi AC AP Pro access point I figured I'd hang it in the garden since the WiFi coverage there is a little weak there. This idea was inspired by the fact that the AP Pro can be mounted outside, with the sidenote that the AP cannot be placed out in the elements but had to be shielded from direct rain etc.

I had already found Toan Nguyen's design for the UAC AP Pro mount and based part of my design on that design. For the rest I added a back plate to the mounting plate on which the rain hood can hang. This should cover the AP well enough to be hung outside against a fence post or a wall.

I personally printed the rain hood out of PETG but I suppose PLA would work too.
