Buy-In Box: Galactic Credits

Running a cantina with players new to Sabacc—especially those without their own credits—calls for creative solutions!

This is The Original pre-counted standard buy-in container, a design that has inspired others to create their own versions (which is awesome!). With this setup, I spend less time sorting through my larger credit stash and more time getting the game rolling as soon as someone sits down.

These containers also come in handy if a player runs out of credits and needs a quick loan!

They are designed to fit my custom galactic credits. A standard buy-in is 500 credits, divided into the following denominations:

• 10 Copper/Bronze Credits (10 credits each)
• 4 Silver Credits (50 credits each)
• 2 Gold Credits (100 credits each)

The 3MF file includes both the container and the corresponding credit pieces for the set. Credits are set to print at 100% infill density. Box is 15%.

Notes for Use

Think of these like a roll of quarters—you typically don’t keep the paper tube or use it for dispensing cash when spending. I usually have players return the box to me or the dealer after they empty their credits, unless they prefer to keep it while playing.

For a fun way to distribute credits, I stack them face down in the box. That way, I can place the box face down on the table, lift it, and leave a neatly stacked pile of credits behind—ready for action!
