Fallout AER9 Laser Rifle 2025 UPDATE!

Introduction

I'm very proud to bring you an update to my laser rifle which I released last year.  This model has been completely revamped with a new stabilized stock and a magnetically attached (and removable) tactical reflex scope.  I've made dozens of changes to the individual components, assembled parts for easier assembly, made adjustments to print settings and part orientation for cleaner printing, the list goes on.  In the end I'm very proud to bring you my latest and greatest Laser Rifle!

If you have a quick look online you'll see that no one else is giving this design away for free due to the hundreds of hours involved with modelling every component.  I'm a true collector that loves being able to create props for fellow wastelanders and fans of the games and show to share.  I've spent the last two years designing Nuka Cola bottles, clocks and coasters, Vault Tec MTG boxes. weapons and even Stimpaks!

Description

This is a life size model which measures almost 2 ½ feet long (70cm), and over 2 ½ feet with the optional Beam Splitter.  It is printed entirely with PLA using 3 walls and a 10% gyroid infill to give it the strength for cosplay use.  You are more than welcome to use any type of filament you want, but I highly recommend avoiding brittle material like silk or matte PLA.  The magnets are completely optional as the scope can be glued on permanently if you wish, but I highly recommend using them.  The magnets are a push fit and can be nearly impossible to remove once placed so please be sure you have them orientated the correct way before gluing and/or inserting them into the body.

I recommend printing with an AMS but you can print this in single colors with no issues, you can always paint it later!

Printing and Assembly Instructions

The majority of the parts are split into 2 silver prints which are 9 hours long.  The remaining plates are divided for the fastest and easiest print possible.  There is a separate profile for an optional lens for the reflex scope which has been optimized for the clearest print possible and when printed with a clear filament you can actually see through it (to a point, we're talking FLM printing here!)  As I mentioned this lens is completely optional so don't stress if you don't have clear filament, you can always print it and add it later if you want to.

Assembly is fairly simple, just look at the pictures and use lots of glue.  There are keys which will help you line up all of the parts but please remember to apply super glue to as much of the contact surface as possible and not just the keys or dowels.  I highly recommend clamping parts together after gluing them to ensure the best connection possible.  Always test fit before gluing and if a dowel or key isn't sitting properly check to make sure both parts have all support material removed.  

Additional Mods

These parts are all fully compatible with this design.

Forceful Stock - Improved bash damage and recoil, greatly improves durability.

This stock was part of the 2024 release and can be used instead of the Stabilized Stock.  Please note this must be done during assembly and cannot be changed afterwards!

Fusion Cell  (with storage inside!) - Fusion cells are typically used by laser-based energy weapons. A fusion cell nearly resembles an electric battery with positive and negative symbols, directional arrows, and a warning label on the side saying "WARNING WILL EXPLODE IF DISPOSED OF IN FIRE."

This is a fully detailed fusion cell with all the details from the game.  It can be printed in full color with an AMS, but there is an engraved version if you prefer.  A great feature of this design is that it can be unscrewed slightly while mounted to give a more secure fit.

Cryo Cell - A small casing, used by emergency services and in cryogenic weaponry.

Like the fusion cell, but blue!

Beam Splitter - The beam splitter is a muzzle weapon mod in Fallout 4 that can be applied to laser weapons. The modification changes the laser to perform more like a shotgun than a pistol or rifle.

Clips onto the front of the laser rifle and can removed if you want to go back to single shots.

Beam Focuser - Gives better accuracy and less recoil.

Wall Mount - A simple and elegant wall mount to display your laser rifle, complete with General Atomics International Logo!

Shelf Stand - A perfect way to display your laser rifle on any horizontal surface you want it on (that's large enough, of course)
