Summary
This is a life-size working replica of the F1 Frag Grenade adapted from the French F1 grenade by the Soviet Union. The handle is spring loaded, just like my other grenade models, so when you pull the pin and release the spoon handle, the handle flies off, just like the real thing. The original French F1 Grenade was adapted by the United States, Soviet Union, and many other countries into their own grenades. This is the Soviet Union's version that was developed before WWII and is still used today by many countries.
Bambu Filaments used
- Matte Dark Green
- Silk+ Silver
- For the silver vertical topper I recommend a stronger filament, such as PLA Silk+. If you only have weaker filaments available (like Bambu PLA Silk), then you can optionally print the horizontally printed topper on Plate 3.
Spring options
- Metal Spring – if you have a metal spring, even a pen spring will often work, then print the metal spring profile. It is designed to work with the Bambu Store's 0.5x7x12mm spring (linked lower on the page). If you use a pen spring, you can usually cut it in half and get two springs.
- No Flying Handle - if you don't want the handle to fly off and just want a grenade model, simply print the metal spring profile and don't put a spring in it.
Assembly
1. Start by inserting the silver piece inside the topper, followed by the spring (see below)

2. Next, insert the topper into the grenade, and then twist 90 degrees to lock it in to place. Its far easier if you do this upside-down (see below)

3. And lastly, its pretty easy to use, but here's a quick GIF showing how to attach the handle:

Boost Me (for free)
If you enjoy my work and would like to help support my ability to share more (and even better) models in the future, please consider boosting or buying me a coffee at the link below. Your support is what helps me have enough filament and supplies to do all the print testing required for my models to be high quality and easy to assemble. It takes a mountain of test prints for each model. Thanks :-)
