Segmented Bin with Lid

A simple segmented bin for separating different types of waste for recycling.

This was designed on request for a colleague, who was looking for a simple waste bin for her bathroom that offered different compartments for separating the different types of waste (paper wrappers, plastic, Q-tips etc.).

The footprint is 18x18cm with a height of 25cm (plus 2.5cm for the handle). The handle is attached via two M3 screws (any length between 10 and 25mm should work) threaded directly into the handle (no inserts needed).

I used PLA Marble for the bin and lid and PLA-CF for the handle, for a look that blends right in with the typical bathroom décor. Feel free to use other materials as you desire.

The 3MF file includes a test print with the top most section of the bin to test fitment of the lid. Depending on your material, printer and print settings, the fitment might need to be adjusted, if you want to have a 100% perfect flush fit. This can either be done in the slicer by scaling the parts, or via the included Fusion360 design file. Feel free to modify and adapt this design as well :)

I recommend printing the lid on a smooth plate, to maximize the marble like texture. The smoother (and cleaner) the plate, the better.
