Customizable Sports Medal - Customize in Slicer

Design for a medal template with ultimate customization options within the slicer!

The main design is a basic medal made for use with a basic lanyard. The medal is made up of a front plate, back plate, and outer ring that also makes up the middle of the design (to reduce filament changes). The medal is 75mm in diameter and 4mm thick. Use the “Text Shape” tool within BambuStudio or other slicers to add text, numbers, or even some symbols to the back and/or front of the medal. Text can be added as a differing filament, can be cut from the design, or made for exposed infill. See photos and notes below for how to achieve these features. I've also provided links to some of the lanyard options that work for this medal given the size and location of the hole at the top.

To add multicolor text:

1. Select medal to add text
2. Select “Text Shape” tool. For text on top or bottom surface set "Embeded depth" to 0.60 and “Thickness” to 0.10. Set other font and text options as desired and place text on medal.
3. To place text on opposite side, exit out of “Text Shape” tool. Select the “Lay on Face” tool and select upper face to place that face on the built surface. Repeat step 2 to add text to the other side.
4. In the “Object” view, right click on the text item and select “Change Type”. Set to “Modifier”.
5. Set desired filament for text items.

To add text as exposed infill:

1. Select medal to add text
2. Select “Text Shape” tool. For exposed infill going through entire medal, set "Embeded depth" to 5 and “Thickness” to 6. Set other font and text options as desired and place text on medal.
3. In the “Object” view, right click on the text item and select “Change Type”. Set to “Modifier”.
4. In the “Strength” settings view, set all Top Shell and Bottom Shell layers & thickeness to 0.
5. Set Sparse infill settings as desired.

To add text as cut out from medal:

1. Select medal to add text
2. Select “Text Shape” tool. To cut out text through entire medal, set "Embeded depth" to 5 and “Thickness” to 6. Set other font and text options as desired and place text on medal.
3. In the “Object” view, right click on the text item and select “Change Type”. Set to “Negative Part”.
