Description

Spring is here which means it's time for outdoor planting! What better way to recycle your old cardboard spool holders than as fully biodegradable planter pots. This print comes in two sizes, a big 4-pot tray with a screw-on carrying handle for and a small -pot tray to fit on the A1 Mini. Both trays come with a drain hole and water catcher, as well as slots for editable name tags. After your plant has grown enough to be moved outdoors you can plant the entire cardboard spool with it!

Before making this design, I contacted Bambulab on the safety of their cardboard spool holders to use in planting. I wanted to make sure that, after removing the plastic tag, there is no wax, treatment, or chemicals used in the cardboard that could be harmful. Their response was as follows: “Please rest assured that the cardboard does not have any additional coating and is simply regular cardboard.”

Print in PETG so you can put them in direct sunlight for optimal growth.

When you first screw in the handle it might feel too tight, but just keep going and once its on there it will be nice and snug.
