House Number Plaque, Faux Wood Grain, Customizable, DIY

I always wanted to make a house number, and I found one made of wood on Taobao, and the texture felt quite good, so I wanted to try making one myself. However, it's quite difficult to 3D print wood grain, so after searching for a long time, I used the solution provided by @PandaN on this site, and simply made a wood-colored house number. The effect is quite good, but the printing time is relatively long. If you like it, you can try it. The size is 150x25x20mm, and the groove width is 5mm. After printing, you can use double-sided tape or other methods to fix it to the door. Some small figurines or ornaments can be placed on the left side of the house number. The buyer's show looks quite nice!

Below are the steps to use it; experienced users can skip this part.

Step 1: Creating the Wood Grain Effect

After opening the file, you can freely drag the yellow modifier in Tray 1. The yellow modifier must overlap with the main body. Dragging it to different positions can create different wood grain effects on the surface. Please check the specific effect after slicing. Different modifier positions will affect the printing time and surface pattern after slicing. Feel free to experiment. After slicing, print directly.

Step 2: Modifying the House Number

Click on text_shape on the left, then click on the text tool button in the toolbar. In the text tool bar that pops up, except for the thickness of 5mm, everything else can be changed freely. You can set your favorite font, font size, character spacing, and change it to your own house number.

Step 3: Printing the House Number

As shown in the figure, after selecting the cube in Tray 2, click delete to delete the extra cubes. Then, only the house number will remain. Then, slice and print directly.
