H2D Internal Y-Adapter for PTFE (PC4-M10)

Finding the constant switching of the PTFE tube cumbersome when printing with TPU, I designed a Y-adapter for permanent installation in my H2D. It's designed to hang from the guide chain, directing filament from both the AMS and an alternative bypass feed (typically TPU) to the hotend.

I chose the guide chain position to avoid adding weight to the print head while keeping the adapter internally and permanently mounted.

Due to the heated build chamber, ABS printing is strongly recommended to prevent softening. The print profile and dimensions are optimized accordingly (with PLA, for example, the thread diameter is too large, for reasons unknown ;-)).

The curved section works perfectly with “soft” TPU; stiffer filaments (PLA, ABS) should be fed via the AMS and the straight section.

IMPORTANT: During installation, firmly push the PTFE tube into the adapter; an inner guide is provided. Smooth filament flow with minimal resistance is only ensured if the tube is properly seated within this guide (the PTFE guide is intentionally tight; test it before installing the pneumatic couplings).

You will need 3x M10 pneumatic couplings for the PTFE tube and a separate tube routed externally via the bypass.

Also check out my ECAS04 adapter; the coupling is more compact, making the entire adapter lighter.
