Description

I've definitely gone French Cleat crazy in my workshop, and I wanted a simple, elegant, and most importantly, modular system to store frequently used items on my walls.

A while back I designed nearly identical brackets that can slip together to hold benchdogs for my MFT style workbench and out of that design and my appreciation for Gridfinity, the Modular French Cleat System was born.

I have several sizes available now with plans to make some more specialized shelves, trays, and holders that also use the dovetail joining method. Maybe glue holders, a phone stand, or cup holder? I would love to hear if anyone have other ideas!

Printing is super easy and I've gotten good results with minimal tweaking, however for the male end of the dovetail (on the base pieces) you have to Enable Supports. I have found the best and easiest to remove supports with these settings. Also the 2x4 bases are wide enough they require tight supports in order to fit the A1 Mini's build plate.

Even after enabling supports I've found that I occasionally have annoying stringing on the bottom of my dovetails, this hasn't effected connect ability so long as you remove the worst offenders.

Assembly is as easy as sliding the parts together. This is easier on the top side of the End Piece, as the bridging on the bottom side creates a tighter tolerance.

Really enjoy making useful tools to keep fellow makers organized and able to justify their printers;) A boost is immensely appreciated and let's me spend more time making. Thanks!
