Description

Description:

This is a simple cocktail & pint glass rimmer to put salt, sugar or Tajin on the rim of drink glasses at home. I didn't see one that I liked already posted, so I figured I'd just make one and share it. This is a straight forward print, the lid is a press fit right over the body. You can scale the lid up or down to make it a tighter fit or looser fit depending on your preference and print settings. The default size with no scaling is on the tighter side, as that is my preference. You can easily select the letters separately from the lid in the Objects tab for ease of changing the text color. You can fit up to 4 objects on a single plate.

Sizing:

This is sized to accommodate common pint glass sizes, but you can easily scale it up or down to accommodate different sizes. As designed, it will fit a glass with a rim up to approximately 106mm in diameter. Anything smaller than that will work fine, and you can even do a shot glass or small diameter wine glass by just filling it up more. And as mentioned before, if you want more or less tension on the lid, just simply scale the lid up or down a small amount to fine tune it to your liking.

Recommended Settings:

The body and lid with no text will print fine with any basic settings. For the text lids, I chose a thicker font which allows for better looking text when printing with a .4 nozzle. If your preferred settings produce gaps in the text on the bottom layer, see below for a few settings that I like to use to get cleaner results with text on the build plate. These are not required for successful printing, but may help you troubleshoot if you are experiencing any issues with the text.
