Zhezhengyuan Pagoda Shadow Pavilion
Print Profile(1)

Description
Translation: Pavilion where shadows resemble a pagoda.
Author: Inscribed "Nuansou". Nuansou is the sobriquet of He Shaoki, a calligrapher of the Qing Dynasty.
Analysis: This is a pavilion named after an illusion. It takes inspiration from the poem by Xu Tang of the Tang Dynasty: "The path connects to the river source, moistening the courtyard with the cool shadow of a pagoda." The pavilion is built in the heart of the pond, an octagonal structure of orange-red color; its reflection in the water resembles a pagoda. The azure sky, bright sunlight, rippling green waves, tender duckweed, and the red pagoda reflection combine to create a beautiful scene, offering aesthetic enjoyment.
