Truck Restoration and SUV Restoration

Do you have an older truck, does the truck sound like a nighttime of fun in the bedroom. The bed springs have plastic spacers, and they eventually wear out. These spacers can replace the worn ones that are allowing the spring steel to run on the adjacent spring. A very easy fix, with a small shim, a stiff scraper, and a 3/8" drill bit. Jack the truck up from the frame (USE JACK STANDS - SAFETY FIRST), not the axle (you want to take the weig

ht off of the tires), place the shim in between the springs and tap the shim with a hammer, use the scraper and place it under what is remaining of the original spacer and hit the scraper with the hammer, this will separate the stem from the pad, with the drill bit, drill out the stem that is in the spring bar.  After the old plastic is out of the spring, install the new ones. Once you've done all the spacers, (Front of axle and rear of axle) your truck or SUV will be as quiet as a ninja.

USE CAUTION WHEN WORKING WITH A VEHICLE THAT HAS BEEN RAISED FROM THE GROUND, USE JACK STANDS! Use at your own risk, creator is not responsible for any damage, injury or mishap.
