Description

This is a hidden dice storage and roll tray that can be disguised as a book on your bookshelf! The book cover opens up and when flipped, slots neatly between the base, creating a dice tray with easily accessible dice. The book holds up to 4 sets of dice along with a mini, and latches closed securely to make it easy to transport.

This is a remix of Bird Of Play's Dice Tray Grimoire that modifies the original parts to allow for a third component to store additional dice and minis. This additional component fits perfectly inside the book and adds extra room to store 2-3 sets of dice and a mini. The design has also been slightly scaled down to fit on an A1-Mini bed size and a custom inlay design has been provided.

To open and close it, align the angled edge of the base of the spine to the base and close it similar to a book. The additional third component should slot perfectly within the base and held securely. Note: some minis may be too large so be sure to be careful when closing it the first time - the clearance for the lid is about 2cm.

There are two inlay designs for the cover and back of the book included in the print profiles: the original inlay design and a custom design that I made for my own DnD character. The pictures included here are of the custom design. For photos of what the original design looks like, feel free to take a look at the photos in Bird of Play's original version.

Note: I was able to print this without an AMS by changing the filament manually mid-layer. To do this, you can update the g-code to insert a pause when the print would normally call the AMS for a filament change. The code required and the instructions on how to do it can be found here for the A1-mini. The current print setup was designed with two filament changes to create two layers of the inlay design (black → red → black). You may need to change the “{if toolchange_count > 1}” line to 0. I've had it skip the first filament change before.

This can also be paired with the display stand I've designed here specifically for this hidden book to showcase the design!
