Heavy-duty Portable Folding Chair(Fully Printable)

Design Notes:

• The model's design inspiration stems from a prize painstakingly acquired after a two-hour wait at ChinaJoy 2024. The idea to 3D print it has been in the works, and now it's finally realized.
• Dimensions for the H2D version: unfolded—290*240*240mm; folded—290*340*35mm.
• Dimensions for the A1/P1/X1 version: unfolded—249*206*206mm; folded—249*292*30mm.
• Weight capacity exceeds 80kg; the upper limit is unknown, as that's my current weight limit…

Model Notes:

• Facilitates effortless one-handed opening and closing; lift to carry, press to unfold, very convenient.

  

• Comprises six components; snap-fit assembly, no pins required.
• Incorporates structural reinforcements throughout, minimizing cavity thickness.

• Features a clamshell-style semicircular closure on the sides; side panels fully retract into the front and rear panels, resulting in an exceptionally slim folded profile.

  

• Includes integrated stops to prevent side panel outward splay; the seat and base are supported on all four sides to distribute pressure evenly.
• Side panels feature a slight angular incline, wider at the base than the top, reducing vertical pressure on the hinge joints.
• All exterior surfaces are printed on the first layer, facilitating personalized pattern customization. I’ve included a simple Minnie Mouse design for demonstration, feel free to modify it as desired.

Printing Notes:

• For outdoor use, employ durable materials such as PETG.
• The model can be uniformly scaled to adjust the overall size; I've verified that the H2D version scaled to 80% functions normally. The provided non-H2D version is at 86% scale.
• Minimal supports are used; please ensure complete removal before assembly to prevent burrs from causing injury.
• The model requires two prints each for the front, rear, and side panels; the model files provide only one of each to conserve space.
• Print time for the H2D version is approximately 28 hours, 19 hours for the 86% version.
• Utilize a modifier to add personalized elements; a 0.4mm layer height is sufficient, reducing material changes while maintaining quality.
• The A1 mini can be scaled down to 61%, printed using “Arachne,” maintaining full functionality with no issues when seated.

Assembly Notes:

• Align and snap the components into their corresponding hinge slots; mind the orientation.
• Firm pressure is required during insertion.
