Mechanical Button Rope Puller [demonstration]
Print Profile(1)

Bill of Materials
- Paracord x 1: ~2mm
Description
This is a simple mechanism which uses a cog and wheel step up to pull a rope when you press the button. This means that for a small press you can displace a much larger amount of rope.
I came up with this idea to replace my toilet flushing mechanism which broke. I have also posted that, the only difference being that it has a base place to close up the top of toilet.
Installation:
- Attach a thin piece of paracord to the wheel side of the cog+wheel part
- This is done by melting one end of the paracord and pushing it into the hole in the wheel which secures the rope in place
- Then put the cog+wheel part into the housing and use the pins to secure it in place (the cog should be on the side of the rail for button).
- Now you can attach the other end of the rope to whatever you wish and start picking up random stuff with the press of a button.
- I used this as a toilet flusher so see my other upload if you are interested in this
Final notes:
- The main goal was to teach myself a bit more about CAD designing cog mechanisms etc which I have managed to achieve and it effectively demonstrates how cogs can be used to increase the displacement factor from button to rope. Its a really fun project and I would love for people to print it and give it a try. You can use it as a toilet flusher like I did or to pick up random stuff, if you come up with any other cool uses please drop a comment with pictures as I would love to see.
- The internal mechanisms and the button are best printed in PETG for longer term use, especially if you are picking up heavier things (ie more force is required on the button)

I am a student and doing all of my designing along side my studies so if you enjoyed the model I would really appreciate a boost to help support my hobby.
