This 3-part 3D-printed trap is designed for lightweight and practical field use, ideal for survivalists, outdoor adventurers, and anyone who enjoys bushcraft. It can be used to catch small animals like birds or rabbits — or even for fishing — depending on how it's set up.
Components:
- Ground Pin: Anchors the trap firmly in the soil.
- Support Bar: Holds the trigger mechanism in place and guides the tension line.
- Trigger Pin: The key to the trap mechanism. Features a small eyelet, perfect for attaching a fishing line or snare wire.
How It Works:
- Drive the ground pin into the soil at your desired trapping location.
- Mount the support bar horizontally on the ground pin.
- Attach the trigger pin under slight tension using a loop of fishing line or snare wire.
- The line is connected to a flexible tree branch or bent sapling, providing the required spring tension.
- Once the trigger is disturbed — for instance, by an animal pulling the bait or a fish tugging on the line — the mechanism releases, activating the trap.
This model is compact, lightweight, and easy to print, making it an excellent addition to any survival kit. While designed primarily for demonstration and educational use, it shows the basic mechanics behind traditional snare traps in a modern, reusable format.
⚠️ Note: Always follow local laws and regulations when setting traps. This model is intended for educational and recreational purposes only.
