Print Profile(1)

Description
This project details an automated sliding door designed specifically for a basement apartment. The aim is to reliably close the door even in the occupant's absence, stabilizing the room temperature and preventing the apartment from cooling down.
Functionality:
Drive System:
The door is powered by a stepper motor operating via a 1-meter-long spindle. This ensures precise and reliable movement.
Door Mounting:
3D-printed mounts and magnets ensure the door closes securely and firmly.
Automation:
The door can be homed using a key switch or a Home Assistant visualization.
After a power outage, the door automatically homes by fully opening and closing to recalibrate its position.
Upon leaving the house, the door automatically closes, ensuring it never remains open.
Limit Switches:
Three magnets reliably pull the door closed, while a limit switch registers the completion of movement.
Control:
Control is via an ESP32 microcontroller, managing all door movement logic and enabling Home Assistant integration.
This system offers a smart and practical solution to enhance comfort and efficiency in a basement apartment, particularly in a pet-friendly environment.
