Description

This is a version of the DCAL camera collimator by DesignByDave that utilizes m48 threads instead of m42.

This fits the same arduino camera that Dave uses but utilizes M48x0.75 threaded extension tubes. The same method of using reflective tape on the reflective ring is used to add brightness to the camera view.

The reason behind remixing this was so that I could prevent taking apart my camera train and risking the introduction of dust and other undesirables any time I wanted to use this. For this you can just remove the entire imaging train, throw this dedicated unit into the focuser drawtube and you're good to go.

Follow tutorials for OCAL to learn how to use this tool. I've found that it's primary purpose for me is to make sure that the secondary mirror on newtonians are perfectly aligned in the optical axis such that the mirror is perpendicular to the focuser draw tube.
