Description

A few years ago, I fixed a printing error on the base of the magnificent sculpture by @MakePrintable and printed it as a gift for my wife's first Mother's Day — it was a huge success.

This year, to celebrate her second first Mother's Day, I wanted to build on that original idea and made some thoughtful modifications:

  • Included the fixed base from the original model
  • Added two children, with one slightly older than the other
  • Preserved the spirit of a warm family embrace
  • Ensured the model remains support-free for easier printing

Sometimes it's the little things that matter most, and I hope this updated design serves as a meaningful Mother's Day gift for others as well.

I've included three printing profiles:

  • One with both figures together
  • One with the original figure (single son w/ fixed base)
  • One with the new figure (two sons w/ fixed base)

Recommended print settings and tips:

  • Enable variable layer height for optimized detail where needed
  • Try fuzzy skin mode if a textured finish is preferred over a smooth one
  • Use marble-effect filament to give it a more sculptural, stone-like appearance

EXTRA:

If you like this sculpture, you might also be interested in the Father’s Day version I made, which explores a similar family theme. You can find it here. There's also a Family version, you can find it here.
