💡 Project Description

I found a great project for a filament storage box here at Bambu Lab, created by two authors—to whom I extend my full recognition and gratitude for their excellent original work. However, when testing the model, I noticed that both the base and the lid were too thin, which made it difficult to remove the piece from the textured plate and compromised the firmness I was seeking.

🔧 Modifications

Other reinforced models I tested used more than 400g of filament and took many hours to print—which, for me, was not feasible for everyday use.

So I made a simple and efficient modification:

  • I added 3 extra layers of 0.20 mm filament
  • The base and lid are now 1 mm thick
  • The box is more resistant, easy to remove from the bed, and ideal for everyday use

⚙️ Advantages of the Modified Version

  • Faster printing: up to 4 hours (or less, depending on speed)
  • Much lighter: uses about 130g of filament
  • More robust and practical for handling and storing filaments

🙌 Credits

All credit goes to the pair of creators of the original project. I only adapted the piece to my needs and share my version here in the hope of helping other users with a lighter, faster, and more functional alternative.

TIP: PRINT WITH TRANSPARENT PETG AND ADD A HYGROMETER WITH SILICA. IT'S PERFECT.
