Magnetic Curtain Closer/Holder Clip

This is a magnetic curtain closure to keep blackout curtains closed when they can't overlap. Requires 8X 6x2mm magnets for each clip pair. 

When I close my curtains I struggle to seal the light out without lots of fiddling. I keep my curtains symmetric on the rod so they don't overlap and although there are a few products on the market that you can pin into the curtains so they hold “shut” they don't pinch the curtains together and have a lot of light leak. These clips make it a bit easier to keep a good seal as I adjust my curtains. 

Installation:

• Insert 8X 6x2mm magnets in each clip pair so they attract each other in a mirrored position. (glue is optional) 3 magnets are placed in the top rail, and one in the tongue.   

  

  • I place all magnets with the same polarity orientation within each clip for maximum attraction. 
  • If you have strong enough magnets you can alternate for better registration. 
• Tuck the curtain into the clip so the tongue is on one side, and the top rail on the other. When the curtains are closed the tongues should touch without fabric between them. 

• Place the paired clip on the other curtain so it's level with the first.

  

  

My curtains are beige eclipse blackout curtains. and esun's bone white matches pretty close. 

You may find your curtains too thick or thin, or your magnets too weak. Let me know. I can adjust gaps and pockets for magnets. a version with strong magnets is likely to come in the future. Especially with enough requests.
