Displacement Floating Rain Gauge

Boost Me (for free)
This design took quite a bit of filament in prototypes. Boosts help recover those costs and fund new models!
This floating rain gauge can measure up to 6 inches or 15 cm of water. It can be mounted either with a bracket (designed for #6 screws) or a stand that sticks in the ground. Print in PETG for the best sun and water resistance, but PLA should work as well.

Important printing settings:
This was designed for 0.4 mm nozzles at 0.2 mm layer height.
The bottom half of the inside cylinder piece (the “gauge” file) needs to be printed with 1% grid infill and 2 walls. I accomplish this with a cylindrical modifier in the 3mf file. If you do not know how to use modifiers, then just print the piece separately from the rest of the pieces using these settings. I recommend 3 walls and 15% infill for the other pieces.
