A viscosity meter (or viscometer)
Print Profile(1)

Description
A viscosity meter (or viscometer) is a device used to measure the viscosity of a fluid — in simple terms, how thick or sticky it is, or how easily it flows.
🧪 What does it measure?
Viscosity meters measure how much resistance a fluid offers to movement or flow. For example:
- Water has low viscosity – it flows easily.
- Honey has high viscosity – it flows slowly.
Cup Viscometer (Flow Cup)
- A simple device shaped like a cup with a small hole at the bottom.
- You fill the cup with a liquid and time how long it takes to empty.
- Common types: Ford cup, Zahn cup, DIN cup.
- Used in paint, ink, and food industries.
