Safe Deposit Box Envelope or Keepsake Box

Bill of Materials
Description
This is a sturdy thick box can fit DIN A4 (⅓) paper that is folded in three, or envelopes that fits them (DL-size), or other mementos. The inner dimensions has gotten some extra wiggle room to get envelopes out easily. Paper envelopes are usually standard sizes, but a too tight fit will ensure a hassle when you want to get them out.
Outer dimensions
- 39 x 233 x 123 (H x W x D)
Inner dimensions:
- 30 x 225 x 120 mm (H x W x D)
Printing instructions and notes:
- I used PLA black. I prefer non-matte, as a matte filament is softer and will discolor with a bit of friction
- You can print the whole box on one plate, but that's pushing it. I used two plates to make the best print possible.
- I included a bit of space around the closing mechanism. However, the first few times opening and closing, the lid will be a little tight. Adding more space makes it a too loose fit.
- I could've used magnets as a mechanism, however, I put harddrives in my safe deposit box, so that wasn't an option.
Design background:
I created this box so it can fit in a safe deposit box. The general important papers will take up some space, so I have not that much wiggle room. Buying cartboard boxes, or anything will may or just may not be matching the deposit box. So I decided to design and printed two. One stores some items for emergencies, and the other for some memementos, like letters and some personal memories to keep safe.
