Description

What This Is

A pouring shield and ingredient funnel for KitchenAid stand mixers with 5-quart and 5.5-quart bowls. This cover snaps onto your mixing bowl and lets you add flour, sugar, liquids, or other ingredients while the mixer is running — no more stopping mid-recipe, no more flour explosions, no more scraping down the sides every 30 seconds. The internal clearance has been adjusted so the beater, whisk, or dough hook won't strike the lid during operation.

Why You Need This

If you've ever:

  • 🌪️ Created a flour cloud adding dry ingredients to a running mixer
  • 🛑 Had to stop the mixer, remove the bowl, add ingredients, and restart (losing your rhythm and wasting time)
  • 🥄 Watched ingredients splash out when mixing at high speed
  • 🧽 Spent 10 minutes cleaning flour off your countertop, backsplash, and floor after every baking session

...then this pouring shield is for you. It's the #1 most useful KitchenAid accessory you can print.

Why Print This Instead of Buying?

Official KitchenAid pouring shields cost $25–40 and often don't fit 5qt bowls properly (they're designed for 4.5qt or 6qt). This print costs ~$2 in filament and fits perfectly.

Compatible Models

This shield fits KitchenAid stand mixers with 5-quart (5qt) or 5.5-quart (5.5qt) stainless steel bowls, including:

✅ KitchenAid Classic Series (K45SS, KSM75, KSM90)

  • Classic 4.5qt models with the 5qt bowl upgrade

✅ KitchenAid Artisan Series (KSM150, KSM160)

  • Artisan 5qt tilt-head mixers (most common model)
  • Artisan Design Series
  • Artisan Mini (if using 5qt bowl attachment)

✅ KitchenAid Professional 5 Series (KV25G0X, KP26M1X)

  • Professional 5qt bowl-lift mixers
  • Professional 500 Series
  • Professional HD Series

✅ KitchenAid Ultra Power Series (KSM95, KSM100)

Features

  • 🎯 Precision-sized for 5qt and 5.5qt bowls — 10.45% larger than the 4.5qt version
  • 🔄 Generous ingredient chute — wide funnel opening for easy pouring
  • 🛡️ Full splash protection — covers the entire bowl opening
  • ⚙️ Beater clearance built in — won't interfere with flat beater, wire whisk, or dough hook
  • 🧼 Dishwasher-safe (when printed in PETG)
  • 🔧 No assembly required — prints as one piece, ready to use
  • 💪 Durable — thick walls, reinforced rim

  2. Wash thoroughly before first use (dish soap + hot water, or run through dishwasher if PETG)

  7. Remove and clean after use (dishwasher-safe if PETG, hand-wash if PLA)

PETG✅ Yes✅ Yes (after curing)ExcellentBest choice — heat-resistant, won't warp in dishwasher

ABS✅ Yes⚠️ DebatedExcellentHarder to print (warping, fumes), but very durable
ASA✅ Yes⚠️ DebatedExcellentSimilar to ABS, better UV resistance

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
Shield doesn't sit flush on bowl rimCheck that you're using a 5qt or 5.5qt bowl (not 4.5qt or 6qt). If correct size, scale model by 101% in slicer.
Beater hits the shieldYou may have a non-standard beater. Try scaling the model by 102% vertically (Z-axis only).
Shield slides around during mixingAdd a thin bead of food-safe silicone around the rim contact area (optional).
Warped in dishwasherYou printed in PLA — reprint in PETG for dishwasher use.
