I purchased several third-party SB2040 CAN control boards, but they were rather unstable, so I reverted to my trusty BTT EBB36.
Compared to rear mounting, side mounting is easier to maintain, avoids the heat from the extruder motor, and prevents interference with the drag chain. The only downside is that it's aesthetically unappealing; the exposed wiring is unsightly due to the lack of a cover.
As I couldn't find a similar design, I created one myself. In addition to the mounting plate, you'll need to print a 2mm thicker spacer (included in the model).
It is recommended to use ABS for printing at minimum. The mounting holes utilize two 3x4x5 brass heat-set nuts.
