Description

This fits Creality Filament Dryer Box 2.0

The printed part is a filament guide fitting

The exit path for the filament on this dryer box is not aligned with the way the filament rolls off the spool. This fitting replaces the original grommet. This fitting changes the exit angle of the filament. To print I recommend a little bit of bed glue. My process file has thin tree supports to help hold this part on the hot bed.  PETG filament recommended, other types of filaments may not clip in without breaking the clip. To install, cut a small section of PTFE tube. Press it into the bottom of the fitting. The clip is used to hold the fitting in housing on the dryer. The PTFE tube going into the extruder easily slides into the top of this fitting.

The fitting was designed to have a loose fit with the PTFE tube. That allows for easy filament loading. To load filament, the PTFE tube is separated from the fitting. Feed the filament through the fitting first, then feed the filament into the PTFE tube until the extruder can grab onto the filament. Use the load filament process on your printer until filament is coming out of the nozzle. Last thing to do is close the gap between the PTFE tube and the fitting. The drag friction between the filament and the PTFE tube is what keeps this from coming apart.
