Four Great Towers of China, Yueyang Tower, no supports

In 215 AD, during the Jian'an era of the Eastern Han Dynasty, General Lu Su of Hengjiang first built the Yuejun Tower, the predecessor of Yueyang Tower; during the Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, it was called the Balin City Tower; in the early Tang Dynasty, it was called Nanlou, and Li Bai, the immortal poet, first referred to it as Yueyang Tower in his poetry, a name which was subsequently adopted; the existing Yueyang Tower was mainly rebuilt in the sixth year of Guangxu (1880) during the Qing Dynasty. In history, Yueyang Tower, as the only ancient building among the three great towers that maintains its original structure, is famous for its unique geographical location, magnificent natural scenery, and magnificent architectural structure. Throughout history, many famous literary figures such as Zhang Jiu Ling, Meng Hao Ran, Li Bai, Du Fu, Han Yu, Bai Juyi and others have visited Yueyang Tower, leaving behind numerous famous works and adding to the rich cultural heritage of Yueyang Tower. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Teng Zijing, the prefect of Yueyang, renovated Yueyang Tower and invited his friend Fan Zhongyan to write the timeless masterpiece "Record of the Yueyang Tower," making Yueyang Tower a political symbol of diligent governance, loving the people, and caring about the world.
