Description

Do you own the IKEA TJUSIG shoe rack but find it too wide for your space? This 3D-printed adapter allows you to shorten the metal tubes and still assemble the rack just like the original.

When cutting the tubes to a shorter length, the original threaded end is lost. This custom-designed insert solves that problem. Simply hammer it into the end of the cut tube – it includes an threaded hole, so you can screw the rods back into the frame securely.

I printed this part using PLA filament, which is easy to work with and provides sufficient strength for this application. The insert fits snugly into the hollow rod and holds well under normal use.

Features:

  • Designed to fit inside the hollow TJUSIG metal rods
  • Contains an thread to match the original screw system
  • Lets you shorten and reassemble the shoe rack without compromise
  • Easy to install – just press or lightly hammer into place

Perfect for customizing your IKEA furniture to better fit small spaces!
