Cuve d'usine / Industrial tank / Reactor vessel
Print Profile(1)

Description
Hello,
I am sharing with you this miniature model of an industrial tank. This is a tank used in water demineralization processes.
A complete installation usually comprises three components:
- A cation exchange resin tank
- A decarbonation tower
- An anion exchange resin tank
The operating principle is as follows:
- The cation resin captures cations (Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Na⁺, etc.) and exchanges them for H⁺ ions
- The decarbonation tower removes dissolved CO₂
- The anion resin captures anions (Cl⁻, NO₃⁻, SO₄²⁻, etc.) and exchanges them for OH⁻ ions
The H⁺ and OH⁻ ions then combine to form pure water (H₂O).
When the resins become saturated, they require regeneration:
- The cation resin is regenerated using an acid
- The anion resin is regenerated using caustic soda (NaOH)
Regarding the model, the most noticeable flaws will probably appear beneath the tank and on its top surface.
If your model has significant defects on the first print attempt, consider using standard, tree-less supports for a subsequent print.
