UPDATE:

Thanks to Sheriandjohn Tompkins for pointing this out, you can use the Y extension mod with the Z brace now!!! ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:921948 )

I have made them 8 mm shorter to compensate for the Z brace mod so that when both installed, the extension length stays 120mm.

This is a mod to extend the Y axis of the Wanhao Duplicator i3 120mm. You will need:

-A longer GT2 Belt (24cm longer)
-2 8mm x 500mm steel rods
-6 M3 size screws (any length will do)
-Change the Max Y in EEPROM to 320
-Cut the two tiewraps that hold the plate cables so that the plate can move further down.

A bigger build plate or just longer Glass.

And DONT INSTALL IT LIKE I DID! Do it the right way! :)

Instructions:

• Unscrew the fron plate that holds the rods (after loosening the setcrews)
• Remove belt
• Place the extensions and screw them in. You dont need long screws...I used M3x5mm ones, the larger the better.
• Insert the rods
• The use the same screws as before and screw the plate on the extensions
• Insert the Belt (1m is enough, the old belt is 76cm long)

Done!
