Description
Greetings everyone,
After several negative experiences with projects downloaded directly from MakerWorld (printer errors, spool jams, etc.), I decided to redesign the wall-mounted spool holder I needed. The rotating spool holder of the AMS lite fits perfectly onto the support, ensuring consistent filament feed and smooth, tangle-free operation. Thanks to the 45° inclination of the filament path, friction is minimized, preventing any errors, even when using PTFE tubing. Furthermore, the minimalist design minimizes filament consumption while maintaining sufficient strength. I printed it in PETG, but PLA should also work without issue. PTFE PC4-M10 tube fittings can be screwed onto the support to connect PTFE tubes (I recommend a 2.5 mm inner diameter) to the AMS lite motors. Everything is easily sourced on Amazon as well.
Two models are available:
- One is this model with counter-clockwise spool rotation, designed for yellow AMS lite spool holders;
- The other, also available on MakerWorld at https://makerworld.com/it/models/1505823-clockwise-rotating-spool-holder-ams-lite-support#profileId-1575907, is for spools with clockwise rotation and green AMS lite spool holders;
Additionally, also available on my MakerWorld profile, I've created numbered tags (1-4) for labeling spools, positioned between the PTFE tube connector and the support (again, with two models, for counter-clockwise https://makerworld.com/it/models/1505877-numbered-spool-tags-counterclockwise-orientation#profileId-1575964 and clockwise https://makerworld.com/it/models/1505852-numbered-spool-tags-clockwise-sequence#profileId-1575939 spools, to keep the numbers upright).
