Description

A “foot” for the bottom of a 4x4 to act as a spacer and help prevent the wood from rotting from ground contact. This was designed for a picnic table that will be dragged around. These could also be used as spacers on the bottom of a step or even a small set of stairs, but I wouldn't use it in a serious load bearing application.

  • Holes are countersunk on both sides, allowing you to install whichever way you like
  • SLIGHTLY undersized b/c no 4x4 is exactly 3.5" x 3.5" - especially pressure treated lumber
  • Install using the center hole first - it's there to help you center the foot on your 4x4.
    • Pro tip: on the bottom of the 4x4, draw a straight line from corner to corner. Where the lines cross is your center point.
  • The model has small slits around the 4 outside screw holes. This “forces” the slicer to add walls around the holes and I put them there there to provide extra strength for the screws when the table is dragged around.  These walls also provide vertical strength that lets you lower the infill if you like.
  • The holes were sized for a #9 3.5" deck screw, but the extra walls allow you to drill for larger screws if you want.

Suggested print is in PETG or some other outdoor resistant filament.
