đŸ Cat Flap for Fly Screens / Insect Screen Frames
This cat flap is specially designed for insect screen or fly screen frames (e.g., in windows or balcony doors). It allows cats free access outside â without having to open the fly screen every time. The construction is stable, easy to assemble, and fully 3D printable
đ§© Structure & Function
- Two-part Outer Frame Construction:
One part is glued to the fly screen from the outside, the other from the inside. Afterwards, the net inside is cut out with a utility knife - Flap with Mesh Tensioning:
The actual swing door consists of two parts, between which the mesh is stretched and glued. This keeps the door light and permeable, but still protects against insects - Snap-in & Fixing:
The flap is snapped into the recess of the frame construction. Afterwards, two small connecting parts (left and right) are glued in, which hold the door in place and serve as pivot bearings
đ§± Assembly Instructions (Short Version)
- Position the outer part on the outside of the fly screen and glue it firmly
- Attach the inner part exactly opposite on the inside and also glue it
- Now carefully cut out the mesh inside the frame
- Print two flap halves, place the fly screen between them and glue them
- Snap the flap into the designated recess in the frame
