A cool model <3 I scaled it down for a finished 2-axis infinity mirror and thereby have a massive gate

@DeAngel1990 Looks great! How much was this scaled down? And did you have problems fitting parts because of it?

Hi @axumite, please do you remember what was the inner diameter of the stargate? I also plan to fit a mirror inside, so I need to know, how to scale it to fit correctly. Thank you!

Yeah the diameter is 495mm, the mirror is 500, which I put on the wall first

Excellent model, very few issues that my have been corrected by now. From what I can recall, the chevron blades needed deeper holes, issues with the back electric bumper that required glue to fix, and the instructions had some incorrect part name and counts. I've also made some modifications adjusting the diffusers so that they're larger and sits farther away from the LED strip, and design/printing a custom stand meant to vaguely resemble the clamps used to hold the gate at SGC. Electronics weren't too hard. Lighting accomplished by using WS2812B LEDs - a cheap 2M 60LED/m strip for the wormhole and 5M 50LED "Fairy String Lights". I wasn't confident about how to wire and power the LEDs from a microcontroller, so I ended up using an off-the-shelf dig2GO LED controller, though this does mean that (at least as far as I know), there isn't a way to add sound effects to my setup.

This looks really awesome, great job. There is a stand if needed but the wall is ideal.

Awesome model ! Printed really nice, many thanks for the model ! By any chance have you made any way to wall mount it ? Or should I tinker something ? I saw that you had a stand but I don't have that much space on my desk (also I don't want my cats going to other planets)

This looks amazing, congratulations. Thanks for taking the time to make my Stargate. Its a big print and it looks so cool. I don't have a specific wall mounted bracket as I used the desktop mount. For the wall I was going to use a wall hook from The Home Depot. Its about $4 and you don't need to modify your model. It may also stop cats getting through the worm hole :) Your color filament looks great. What would you recommend to others?

Printed beautifully! I made some minor modifications since I was planning on hanging it on the wall. I was able to use the same segments and just leave the back open for wiring (except for structural parts). I'm still in the middle of painting it. I used the Bambu Metal PLA for everything visible and am dry brushing it with Citadel Runefang Silver. Thanks for a great project that made me remember long forgotten electronics knowledge!

Love what you've done here, it really looks so cool. Great job, I know there is a lot of printing but your results really paid off.

A lot of people have been asking if I will produce a Stargate Atlantis edition of the Stargate, Good news !! Yes, I will be making an Atlantis edition, complete with dialing ring that supports electronic lighting and sound.

Do you have a timeframe on this new version? I'd also love to have a Destiny style gate to complete the collection! The recent announcement of the new show has renewed my love of Stargate and gave me a good excuse to finally print one, and I imagine it's doing the same for many others. Probably a huge earning opportunity coming up!

This is one of the craziest prints/builds I’ve don’t yet! There’s so much detail, and I scaled it down to 60%!

I designed my own electronics, but its not for beginners. However, a cheap fast way was used on this model, does similar to my own electronics with sound etc. Hope this helps. https://www.printables.com/model/688291-stargate-modified-chevron-parts

thank you. the main part of the sign i want to implement is usb power instead of the standard plug tip. I'm not sure what you may have used to apply this change.

You might want to look at Arduino Nano series for the lights or even Adafruit offerings.
