Canon EF lens to Action Cam Adaptor

Description
Hi,
This is my EF lens to Action camera adaptor. I was Inspired by the film makers using Iphones with external lenses and had previously put together somthing similar using a carbord tube. I thought it was about time for an upgrade so i designed this. I designed it last weekend in Inventor and printed and refinded it to this version - number 5, which Im happy with and works for me. I removed the lens from my old campark action cam, just unscrews and took apart my old Canon 350D for the dimensions ( it was dead). It's designed in multiple parts to keep the surfaces flat where I needed them to be. its held together with M4 socket button head setscrews which are cheap and easy to find. You will need M4 x 8mm x 7, 35mm x1 and 16mm x 4. The 16mm's hold the front on, the 8mm everything else except the one long 35mm which goes through the back and into the center part. I added a set of different sized pin holes, the little cylineder that fits in the middle. The idea being as the EF lens iris is controled electronically by the camera normally when its on its own its wide open. So to stop it down, think F numbers like 5.6 I use these instead to control the light getting to the sensor and increase the depth of field, well thats the idea anyway. I have done some tests and its up and recording through different EF lenses, its awsome on my 400mm prime and i can now record 4k, my 6d only does 1080. I added a thin disk to goe between the lens and the adaptor, it creates an interference fit to replace the mechanical locking pin which would normaly be used. With the crop factor of the smaller sensor I also get a increase in magnification as my 6D is full frame. I have a 4k IP camera I stripped Im going to test out as well, the rear plate can be modified to what ever CCD you have. Some hand finishing of parts are required, I use a cheap nail polisher which beats my old dremmel and a craft knife or scalple. If the center F tubes are a bit loose tweak a few points around the joining edge with a pair of needle nose pliers and they will click into place.
I hope you have fun with this, I would love to see what you come up with, as always you are welcome to MOD it to your needs.
